"Land Rover" badge for rear tub, for Serie 2A and Serie 3. The inscription mentions the Solihull factory. Original badge, not a copy! Used part.
We do not know the official reason, nor the precise date on which the platelets ceased to bear the name of the Birmingham factory for that of Solihull. It is estimated that the change happened at the end of 1960, and that the matrix which was used to manufacture the wafers had become worn. When manufacturing the new matrix, Land Rover took the opportunity to change the name of the factory. At the end of 1960, the Solihull factory expanded.
