Each seat base has two buffers fitted at the rear of the internal oak frame, with one on each side. They are located at the rear of the base just before the locating peg that slots through the raised channel at the rear of the seat box.

The buffer bridges the gap between the base frame and where the locating pegs go through the rear section on the seat box.
